The rearing and emerging kits offered by Gaia Nature allow you to observe the spectacular metamorphosis process through which a caterpillar becomes a painted lady butterfly. In only 3 weeks, your caterpillars will transform into a chrysalis, after which they'll emerge as beautiful butterflies.
Emerging kits
Witness the emergence of painted ladies with the emerging kits and their already formed chrysalis. You can then release them in the nature by organizing a little ceremony with your kids or pupils.
All our kits are easy to use and ideal as an activity for preschool, primary- or secondary-school levels, as well as a birthday gift. Let your students discover the lifecycle of one of Quebec's most beautiful butterflies.
Rearing kits
- Caterpillars (choice of 10 or 25) - 3 to 5 days growth
- Caterpillar food (soya paste)
- Individual transparent rearing containers
- 1 sterile brush to handle the caterpillars
- 1 pair of gloves to handle the material
- 1 spoon to distribute the food
- 1 dilutable fructose bag (nectar)
- 1 nectar dispenser for butterflies
